A (Winter) Weekend In Toronto

It may be snowy and cold, but there is still so much you can do in Toronto. I love Toronto and try to take advantage or everything the city has to offer in every season! These are some of my favourite winter weekend activities.

If your Instagram doesn't have a picture of you in front of the Toronto Sign then a visit to the rink at Nathan Phillips Square is a must. It can be very busy on the weekend, but there's so much going on it's worth fighting the crowds.

When you've gotten your pictures and your feet are sufficiently cold, I like to head to the Champagne Bar in the Pusateri's Food Hall just across the street under Saks at the Eaton Centre.

If you're there on the weekend you can also enjoy $5 mimosas and caesars to warm you up!

The Bentway is Toronto's newest skating trail under the Gardiner. The trail is a 220m figure 8 running beneath the highway.

On Saturday and Sunday they have skate rentals all day or you can grab drinks at the Strongbow lounge!

If you're less interested in photo ops and more interested in simply skating, there are tons of great rinks around the city. My personal favourite is Harry Gairey Rink at Dundas and Bathurst.

You'll find far fewer people and more opportunity to just enjoy skating. The pad isn't large, but you can get in some great skating! Cocktails

One of the best ways to get in out of the cold is at a cozy bar for cocktails.

One of my personal favourites to head to in the winter is the Library Bar at The Royal York hotel. It's the perfect spot to feel like you're on vacation. If you love a glass of bubbly like I do, try the Fairmont Blanc de Blancs.

Another favourite is the bar at Alo. While you may have heard of Alo as being named the best restaurant in Canada, the bar is a great spot to hang out and have a cocktail or glass of wine. Make sure you check out the bathroom before you leave too!

A great new spot on King West is Goldie. They make amazing cocktails and have small bites to share.

You can sample one of their cocktail creations or have the bartender mix you up something really unique!

A stroll around Kensington Market is one of my favourite things to do on a Sunday morning (okay, maybe afternoon.)

While most of the action in Kensingon happens in the summer, you can still visit all the great spots in the winter, and without the crowds!

I love to head to Blackbird Bakery to grab a baguette before heading to World of Cheese to pick up a few things for later. I also love to visit the Cocktail Emporium to pick up something new to add to my bar cart.

It can be hard to motivate yourself to head out into the winter weather, but there's so much you can miss if you don't!

Until next time,
